Farbrengen - Meeting of the Souls in Senior Community
The Chabad House of Monroe Township recently sponsored a "Farbrengen - Meeting of the Souls". This unique gathering was attended by 50 members of the senior communities in Monroe, and was dedicated to the auspicious day of Yud-Shvat, the tenth of Shvat. This day marks the passing of the sixth Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Joseph Isaac Schneerson, in 1950, and the anniversary of the Rebbe's accepting the leadership of the Chabad movement in 1951. Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson assumed the leadership of the Lubavitch Movement and quickly set into motion massive educational programs and activities on a global scale. Today there are over 13,000 emissaries of the Rebbe world-wide, positively helping build a Jewish revival in spiritual, social, and cultural venues.

This evening featured uplifting discussions and stories of Chassidus from its inception in the eighteenth century up to our times and how it pertained to each one of us in today's modern world.

The crowd was uplifted with stories, Chassidic melodies, and refreshments.  In addition,  an historic video clip of Jewish life in 1940's America was presented.

Rabbi Yehuda Spritzer, director of Chabad of Monroe, and the Rebbe's emissary to Monroe Township, reported that many of the participants were enriched by this program, and made resolutions to "Spiritually Grow" by increasing their daily Mitzvot and Torah Study.
